(9/8/23) Special Prayer Request from Pastor Chris Aulson: “Please keep the Eden Park, South Africa church in prayer. This is a church in the Johannesburg area that Chris and Melanie Aulson and their family pastored at for 4 years. On Wednesday night before their service, a group of armed men broke into the prayer meeting and began to force people to the floor and then took their cell phones, bank cards, and any cash they had on them. In the process, they hit Pastor Shawn Stellenberg on the back of the head with a gun, and he sustained several kicks to the head as he crumpled to the ground. As this group of thugs left, they took with them quite a bit of the church equipment and the generator. (South Africa is having major blackout issues right now!) Additionally, one of the disciples (Yanga Sobantwana) drove up to the church right as they began their getaway, and in the process of them leaving, they shot and killed Yanga. Yanga’s parents are some of the original converts from when Robert Polaco pioneered the church. In addition, Yanga and his wife, Rose, just had a baby girl a couple of months ago. Please pray for Pastor Shawn’s full recovery (he still has both eyes swollen shut), comfort for the Sobantwana family (the parents: Wilson and Sylvia, and his wife, Rose), God’s grace on the Eden Park church, and God’s supernatural dealings with the group of men that perpetrated this crime, and that it would quickly come to light who is responsible. I’m praying these criminals would have no peace until they confess and come clean. May God bring them unto repentance—and if not, I leave it to God how He wants to make things right…and may the Eden Park church experience restitution personally and corporately—in resources, and even more in revival and fruitfulness! The South Africa conference just concluded and there were 14 new domestic churches planted, as well as 2 new international works announced too. This is a demonic counter-assault to what God is doing in that nation, and this aggression will not stand! I was greatly encouraged in talking with Shawn today to hear a steely resolution to keep pressing the battle to the gates, and an on-going commitment to take the Gospel outside of the four walls in Eden Park and beyond. What the enemy has meant for evil, may God turn for good! I truly appreciate the Focused Fire prayer partners laying hold of heaven on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Eden Park.”
